Sizing On The Locals
The Locals is a marketplace of independent UAE brands, and each brand cuts to its own pattern. A medium from one designer can fit differently to a medium from another — that individuality is part of what makes local fashion special.
The charts below are our standard reference charts, and many products also list their available sizes, materials, and fit notes on the product page. When a piece runs distinctly relaxed or fitted, the product description is your best guide. If you are ever unsure, our team is a message away.
How To Measure Yourself
All you need is a soft measuring tape and a mirror. Measure over light clothing or underwear, keep the tape level, and do not pull it tight.
Chest
- Wrap the tape around the fullest part of your chest
- Keep the tape parallel to the floor
- Breathe normally — do not puff out or hold your breath
Waist
- Measure around your natural waistline, above the hip bones
- It is usually the narrowest point of your torso
- Keep one finger between the tape and your body
Hips
- Stand with feet together
- Measure around the fullest part of your hips and seat
- Keep the tape level all the way around
Clothing Size Chart
Our standard clothing chart, in centimetres. Match your own measurements to the closest size — if you sit between two, size up for a relaxed fit or down for a fitted look.

Shoe Size Chart
To find your shoe size, stand on a sheet of paper, mark your longest toe and the back of your heel, and measure the distance in centimetres. Match that length to the chart — and if you are between sizes, size up for comfort.

- Natural fabrics like linen and wool can relax slightly with wear
- Abayas and draped pieces are often designed with an intentionally loose silhouette
